Sponsorships and contributions

Purpose of grant

To provide financial sponsorship to external parties. This may be to assist organisations/groups to stage events within the municipality, or Council may have identified that by providing sponsorship, Council will receive economic or marketing benefits.

Sponsorship is a commercial arrangement in which Council provides a contribution in money or in-kind to support an activity, in return for certain specified benefits including but not limited to promotional rights for Council. Council may elect to purchase entry tickets as a component of any sponsorship agreement.

A contribution is an allocation of funding, a waiving of charges or an allocation of in-kind in recognition of significant community benefits provided by a club or organisation.

All applicants must:

  • Have a registered ABN (Australian Business Number) or be incorporated by Consumer Affairs Victoria.
  • Be operating within or plan to operate in the Northern Grampians Shire.
  • Not have any outstanding debt with Council or be in breach of any statutory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with Council to foster a respectful relationship.
  • Provide adequate evidence of appropriate insurance.

Grant Value

Up to $5,000.

Funds are allocated to the organisation are GST exclusive.

Timing Availability

Ongoing. Applications must have contacted and discussed their sponsorship request with Council prior to submitting an application.
