General information

Each year, Council sets aside funds for grants and sponsorships through its annual budget to support our community’s goals. These funds help bring our Council Plans and Strategies to life by:

  • Supporting local businesses to grow and thrive.

  • Creating and sharing unique, high-quality and enriching experiences across the Northern Grampians Shire.

  • Ensuring our community has access to a rich variety of arts, cultural activities and entertainment. 

  • Protecting and celebrating our natural environment, cultural and heritage assets. 

  • Promoting and improving the health and wellbeing of our community.

  • Fostering gender equality and inclusive opportunities for everyone.

  • Celebrating and enabling diversity and supporting a welcoming, connected community.

  • Empowering local groups and organisations to deliver great programs and activities for our residents.

Community Grants

Our Community Grants Program supports not-for-profit groups and organisations to provide activities, programs, and projects based on current community needs.

Community Events Grant Program

The Community Events Grant Program allows community groups and organisations to host local events for under 500 people with the primary purpose of attracting the local community.

Minor Grants Program

The Minor Grants Program allows community groups and organisations to apply for funding for specific one-off activities or projects.
Re-opening in July, 2025.

Arts and Culture Grant Program

Our Arts and Culture Grant Program is designed to support local projects that increase participation in arts and culture, raise the profile or
celebrate the place where art and culture is created.

Community Sponsorships and Contributions Program

The Community Sponsorships and Contributions Program enables community groups and organisations opportunities for growth, sustainability, and continued participation for programs important to the community within the Northern Grampians Shire.

Grant Funding Finder

Do you have a project that you don’t have funds for? There are so many grants out there just waiting for applications.
Northern Grampians Funding Finder is a grants portal offering free access to more than two billion dollars worth of grant opportunities.

Other grant funding opportunities

Northern Grampians Shire Council Grants are a fantastic resource for our community and a great way to fund your project however funds are limited and grant focus areas may not be suitable to your needs.
These grants may be exactly what you are looking for.

Grant Writing Support for Community Groups

The Community Groups Grant Writing Service enables groups to access grant writing support for non-council grants of $5000 and over.

2025 Community Grants Program Recipients

This year’s program has a focus on projects that promote community equity and inclusion, with grants going towards projects that support opportunities for multicultural inclusion; enable all residents to be socially connected; enable access to healthy and affordable food; and provide leadership opportunities for women and girls.

Act@Play Sporting Club Program

Northern Grampians Shire Council is partnering with Women’s Health Grampians (WHG) to deliver a program called Act@Play to sporting clubs across our region.
