Council's waste management program includes kerbside collections, transfer stations, public place waste management, and community education. Over 4,000 tonnes of municipal waste and 1,200 tonnes of recycling are processed from residential kerbside bins, public litter bins and transfer stations across the Shire each year.
To find out about specific services such as kerbside waste and recycling, transfer stations, or ordering new bins see our bins, recycling and waste section.
Currently, the Northern Grampians Shire Council is offering NGSC ratepayers and residents complimentary bin straps for their kerbside bins. This is to help reduce the amount of rubbish being littered from the kerbside bins due to wildlife and bins being knocked over.
Residents and ratepayers are entitled to two bin straps (one for each kerbside bin), but may be entitled to more straps if the property has more than two Council bins registered.
Bin straps can currently be collected from:
- Stawell Town Hall
- St Arnaud Customer Service Centre
- Halls Gap Hub Visitors Centre
