Stawell Sports and Aquatic Centre is a hive of activity throughout the year with various casual, competition and seasonal programs available.

Our basketball and racquetball courts are open to the public during the regular opening hours, meaning you can shoot some hoops or practice your Pickleball swing anytime. Bookings aren't essential but do take preference, therefore we would encourage you to book a space if you're wanting to secure it at a particular time. Simply click the link below and complete the online form.

The 2024/25 Summer season saw 11 teams compete across a 13-week season between November and February at the North Park Netball Courts. Our 2025/26 season will likely follow a similar format depending on how many teams enter.

Congratulations to the Lions for taking home the 2025/25 chocolates!

  • Tuesday mornings between 10am and 12pm
  • Thursday afternoons between 5pm and 7pm
  • Saturday mornings between 9:30am and 11:30am

Sessions are $5 per person and no booking are required, simply show up at one of the times above and join in on the fun. Pickleball is available to be played outside of these times pending court availability and other bookings.

We are seeking expressions of interest from people who would like to explore the option of running a formal competition at SSAC. If you are interested, please add your details to the form below and we'll be in contact with you should we get enough support. Please ensure you nominate which days and times are preferrable for you so we can aim to find some options that work for most people.

PICKLEBALL | A poem by Ron Lazones

There’s a new game in town,
That’ll take away your frown,
It’s a game for players of all ages,
Abilities, backgrounds and stages.

It’s played indoors or out,
It’ll make you want to shout,
It’s a little bit like tennis,
But its smaller court isn’t a menace.

Singles or doubles, competition or fun,
It’s great to play and have a run,
Underarm serving and no volley zone,
Confused by the scoring, you’re not alone.

But once you get the hang of it,
You won’t feel like a twit,
Laughter, belonging and friendship,
Are rewards of playing with mate-ship.

Young or old, fast or slow,
It’s called Pickleball, so give it a go,
We who play regularly, can’t get enough,
Come and join us, it’s not that tough.
