What is the purpose of the strategy?
The Strategy will provide overall direction for Council and its work with young people into the future. Young people are the future of our community, and we want them to thrive and love where they live. To achieve this, we are listening to their ideas, concerns and priorities for Northern Grampians Shire.
Update on the Youth Strategy Survey
We were very pleased to have 250 young people aged 12 to 24 years from across our municipality complete the Youth Strategy Survey in July and August. The majority of young people who participated were aged 12 to 17 years.
We are currently conducting workshops and further engagement with various groups of young people to further explore the key concerns and priorities that have been identified by young people, and also reach other groups who were not captured in the survey process.
We will have a draft of the Youth Strategy prepared by the end of 2023. This will be presented back to young people and community for review.
