Arts and Culture Action Plan 2022-24

The Arts and Culture Action Plan 2022-24 seeks to develop, in partnership with community, an action plan for the next two years to build vibrant and connected communities through arts and culture. This work is supported by the Arts and Culture Strategy 2020-24.

Through this work, council seeks to understand what arts and culture means to the community, which will inform the development of the action plan.

The community will be asked to indicate which of the three outcomes of the strategy are most important to them.

  • An inclusive creative community through participation
  • Connected reputable arts community by raising the profile or
  • Activated town centres and rural communities.

The engagement will also seek to discover which aims of the Arts and Culture Policy 2020 are a community priority.

  • Support local creative talent – creating more opportunities to produce and present great work
  • Strengthen the creative industries ecosystem – building capability and conditions for growth
  • Deliver wider economic and social impacts – stimulating innovation and wider creative impact
  • Increase participation and access – engaging more local residents in cultural and creative endeavours
  • Protect and preserve public arts and cultural assets -  maintain community assets and the NGSC Historical Assets Register

An Arts and Culture Working Group will be established to assist in the development and implementation of the action plan.
