This council led project will map flooding throughout the Stawell township to inform design any infrastructure needs to manage water flows into the future.
The initial stage of the flood study is to collect data which can be utilised to inform the hydraulic models. Furthermore, a preliminary flood model depicting the Stawell flood event from 2011 has been produced by WaterTechnology. Council is looking for community feedback to confirm the model's accuracy. The data the council is looking for includes:
Any photos from the 2011 event
Observations or remarks about the accuracy of the model
Any suggestions for flood mitigation for future events

Some members of the community will be approached by Council to have the floor levels of their homes surveyed. This information is used to identify which dwellings may be at risk of inundation.

Using the information provided by the Community, WaterTechnology will create flood maps and investigate flood mitigation options. The community will have the chance to offer suggestions for the final report. Closer to the date, more options for providing feedback will be made available.
