Following on from the success of our Northern Gramps Girls Can campaign last year where council lit up exercise spaces in the early mornings, several of the shire’s sporting facilities are due to light up again in 2026. Between May 4 and September 30, spaces in Stawell and St Arnaud will light up from 6pm to 7.30pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and from 6am and 7am on Wednesday mornings.
Join Elisabetta Barberio, Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Dark Matter Particle Physics, Aldo Ianni, Director of the Laboratorio Subterráneo de Canfranc underground laboratory, and the team from Stawell Underground Physics Lab (SUPL), to hear the latest progress reports on the construction and launch of SUPL.
Date: Thursday, 17 November
Time: 6.30pm
Venue: Stawell Entertainment Centre
The discussion will involve updates on the lab, an overview of the science of dark matter, and an introduction to the SUPL team.
There will be time for Q&A.
