Stawell Sports and Aquatic Centre | Aquatics Redevelopment

What is it?

Redevelopment of the aquatic component of Stawell Sports and Aquatic Centre, including a 25-metre indoor pool with accessible entry ramp, new change facilities, plant room upgrades and improvements to reception/foyer areas.

Why is it needed?

The existing aquatic facilities are ageing and do not meet current community demand or contemporary accessibility expectations. The centre currently has a 15m pool that services more than 500 learn-to-swim participants in addition to broader community use. The pool does not provide accessible entry via a ramp.

Existing change facilities are non-compliant and are not co-located with the pool hall, reducing amenity and operational efficiency.

The ask

$12,209,778 for the redevelopment from State Government. Total cost expected to be $28.5 million with the remaining $15.5 million funded by council and Federal Government.
