Advocacy priorities

Council’s Advocacy Prospectus outlines where council will focus its advocacy efforts. A clearly articulated set of priorities will ensure a relevant, targeted and coordinated approach to advocacy that best utilises council and the community's resources. These priorities provide a framework for council to plan and deliver targeted advocacy to state and federal governments.

The advocacy priorities reflect the priorities identified by the community through the development of the Council Plan 2025-2029, annual budget, and other key strategic documents, alongside items identified and resolved at council meetings.

Priorities may change over time to reflect emerging issues, new evidence and changes to funding and policy settings. The Advocacy Prospectus will be reviewed periodically to ensure it remains current.
