Shopfront Improvement Program


Northern Grampians Shire Council is excited to offer businesses in Stawell the opportunity to participate in a Shopfront Improvement Program. The program has been funded by council and established to assist businesses within Stawell to improve the vibrancy of individual shops, stimulate economic growth, and enhance the overall look and feel of the town.

To deliver this program, council has engaged retail design consultants, Pop Creative Collective, who will work with individual business owners to enhance the presentation of their shopfronts. This includes professionally-designed business branding, updated signage, visual merchandising for window displays, and other general improvements, depending on the unique needs of each participating business.

Six successful applicants will receive one-on-one professional design services with the team from Pop Creative Collective and up to $2,000 +GST towards the cost of approved shopfront improvements. There is no cost for businesses to apply for this program; however, if the total amount of the improvements is over $2,000, and businesses are willing to cover out-of-pocket expenses, businesses will be required to cover the remaining costs. 

We are currently offering this program to businesses on Main Street Stawell as a pilot program. If the program is deemed successful, council will look to roll out the program to other businesses throughout the shire.

Who is eligible to apply for the program? 

This program is open to any business that has a street-facing, ground floor shopfront on Main Street Stawell (including side streets). Franchise businesses are exempt from applying for this program.
