Allanvale Homestead and Shearers' Quarters are located on a magnificent working sheep property close to the Great Western wineries and within a half-hour scenic drive to the Grampians. The Shearers' Quarters, located 100 metres from the homestead, offers rustic accommodation perfect for big groups and special occasions. Allanvale Homestead was designed by the renowned architect Desbrowe Annear and built in 1921. It is surrounded by many leafy English trees, arbours, a lovely walled garden, a tennis court and an inground swimming pool. The heritage Shearers' Quarters was built early last century and was used to accommodate and feed shearers up until the late 1980s. Annie converted the Quarters into rustic accommodation for groups in 1991.
While the homestead and Shearers' Quarters offer the perfect base for exploring the Grampians and Great Western's famous wineries, many guests prefer to spend their time relaxing at Allanvale. All visible horizons are part of this substantial working sheep property, dotted with mature trees and the quiet presence of grazing cattle.
Guests are free to wander about the property's rolling landscape, absorbing its unbroken tranquillity, blazing night skies and intimate reflections of earlier days.
