Council has released its Advocacy Prospectus 2026 which outlines where the organisation will focus its advocacy efforts to state and federal governments, particularly in the lead-up to November’s State Election. Council will advocate for aged care services in the municipality to be transitioned to local service providers, namely Grampians Community Health and East Wimmera Health Service, following a decision made at the July council meeting in Stawell. There are no immediate changes to any services for current clients and no action required for now.
This Australia Day weekend there will be something for everyone at Stawell Racecourse. Come along to the annual Show 'n' Shine exhibit of cars. Or feel free to enter a car ($10 per car entry). Have a look through the market and enjoy some live music, BBQ, drinks from the bar and if you're lucky a win at the raffle. An event not to be missed.
