Creative Education Fund

Council's Creative Education Fund is part of the Arts and Culture Funding Program that supports primary, secondary and specialist schools across the shire to provide creative opportunities for students.
Grant priorities
This initiative aligns with the council priorities to support activities that:
- Enable arts and culture participation, or
- Raise the profile of arts and culture, or
- Activate places and spaces.
Project ideas include but are not limited to:
- Art supplies for creative activities.
- Engaging an artist to run a workshop.
- Hosting, attending or delivering a performance.
- Activities, artworks or creative projects that support existing community events such as the Christmas Tree Festival in Stawell or Christmas Parade in St Arnaud, or any other relevant community event or activity.
Works created with this fund could be showcased to the broader community by council.
Available funding
Funding for Creative Education Fund is a fixed amount of $500 plus GST for each applicant.
Funds need to be expended within 6 months of being received.

You are a primary, secondary or specialist school within Northern Grampians Shire.

Creative Education Fund Guidelines
Conditions of funding include the following:
- Grants are allocated specifically for the project/activity outlined in the application and cannot be used for any other purpose unless approved. Any change to the original application must be approved by the designated council staff member.
- Allocated grant funds are GST exclusive.
- Funds are required to be expended within six months of approval.
- Grant recipients may be requested to partake in media and communications opportunities that promote the council's Creative Education Fund.
- Any programs or activities undertaken with funding under this program must acknowledge the support of the Northern Grampians Shire Council. Grant recipients will be provided with the Northern Grampians Shire Council corporate logo.
- No quotes will be required.
Council will not consider providing funding that contributes towards:
- The purchase of gift and prizes.
- Unconditional gifts, donations, bequests or endowments.
- Projects/activities that have already commenced.
Applicants will be ineligible if:
- Previous funding received from council has not been satisfactorily acquitted.
- There is outstanding debt with the council.
- The funds are to be used for wages, however professional services that support project capacity building (i.e. consultant fees, professional services, service, or product contractors that directly benefit the initiative) will be considered.

Assessment process
Council staff will assess your application and advise of the outcome via email.
Applications will be assessed on their alignment to the objectives of the Creative Education fund which are activities that enable arts and culture participation, raise the profile of arts and culture, or activate places and spaces.
Applications will be reviewed, assessed and processed in early April 2026. Applicants can expect to be notified before the end of April 2026.
