Council has released its Advocacy Prospectus 2026 which outlines where the organisation will focus its advocacy efforts to state and federal governments, particularly in the lead-up to November’s State Election. Council will advocate for aged care services in the municipality to be transitioned to local service providers, namely Grampians Community Health and East Wimmera Health Service, following a decision made at the July council meeting in Stawell. There are no immediate changes to any services for current clients and no action required for now.
North Park has a brand new multipurpose facility and asked our community to help us choose the best name for this building.
At the 28 June Council Meeting, Council formally named the facility as North Park Community Sports Centre.
Council undertook a community poll of three suggested names to provide an opportunity for community members to participate in the council decision making process, as set out in our Community Engagement Policy. The preferred name was North Park Community Sports Centre.
