Council has released its Advocacy Prospectus 2026 which outlines where the organisation will focus its advocacy efforts to state and federal governments, particularly in the lead-up to November’s State Election. Council will advocate for aged care services in the municipality to be transitioned to local service providers, namely Grampians Community Health and East Wimmera Health Service, following a decision made at the July council meeting in Stawell. There are no immediate changes to any services for current clients and no action required for now.
Beef and sheep producers around Moyston are invited by BestWool/BestLamb and BetterBeef Networks to a free livestock management in dry times event.
This event is free and includes morning tea and lunch.
Agriculture Victoria staff and a Rural Financial Counselling wellbeing officer will be present throughout the day to chat. There will be a Q&A session - including opportunities to find out more about local BWBL/BB groups.

Dr Steve Cotton, Dynamic AG
Steve is well known locally and has many years consultancy experience in livestock management and nutrition. Dr Cotton facilitates local Best Wool Best Lamb groups. Steve will present on current animal health issues facing clients and things to be on the lookout for in the coming weeks
