Twelve groups and not-for-profit organisations have received a share of almost $56,000 in funding through council’s 2026 Community Grant and Arts & Culture Grant programs. Four schools also received $500 each as part of council's 2026 Creative Education Fund initiative.

Following on from the success of our Northern Gramps Girls Can campaign last year where council lit up exercise spaces in the early mornings, several of the shire’s sporting facilities are due to light up again in 2026. Between May 4 and September 30, spaces in Stawell and St Arnaud will light up from 6pm to 7.30pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and from 6am and 7am on Wednesday mornings.
This year's theme is 'Dream' (As wide as your Imagination)
The Grampians Writers Group invites secondary students from year 7 to year 12 and open age (18 and over) to submit their short story entries from 1 August through to 14 October 2022.

No entry fee, the catergories are secondary students years 7 - 9 to 1,000 words, years 10 - 12 to 1,500 and open age (18 and above) to 2,000 words, with prizes for First, Second and Highly Commended in each catergory.
Winners will be awarded prizes at a ceremony on 19 November to be held at the Stawell Town Hall Supper Room, 59–69 Main Street, Stawell, from 3pm. Afternoon tea will be included. Winners will be posted in the Stawell Times News following the event.
