Ready, Set, Glow!

Following on from the success of the Northern Gramps Girls Can campaign last year where council lit up exercise spaces in the early mornings, several of the shire’s sporting facilities are due to light up again in 2026.

Between May 4 and September 30, spaces in Stawell and St Arnaud will light up from 6pm to 7.30pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and from 6am and 7am on Wednesday mornings.

  • Stawell: Northern Park athletic track, infield and netball courts will be lit up every Monday and Wednesday evening, with the athletic track and infield also lit up on Wednesday mornings (no netball courts).
  • St Arnaud: Lord Nelson oval will be lit up every Monday and Wednesday evening and Wednesday morning.

The campaign aims to encourage community members to be active in safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces following the end of Daylight Saving Time.

Please allow up to 5 minutes for the lights to turn on as it is a manually triggered system which can sometimes have a slight delay.

If you have any questions about the campaign or wish to report a problem with the lights, please call us on (03) 5358 8700 or email ngshire@ngshire.vic.gov.au
