Following on from the success of our Northern Gramps Girls Can campaign last year where council lit up exercise spaces in the early mornings, several of the shire’s sporting facilities are due to light up again in 2026. Between May 4 and September 30, spaces in Stawell and St Arnaud will light up from 6pm to 7.30pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and from 6am and 7am on Wednesday mornings.

From the aftermath of the 2024/25 bushfires, a group of local volunteers formed the "Halls Gap Kitchen Cabinet" to lead recovery efforts across the community. Locals look to restore tourism, morale and community spirit in the traditionally quite winter months. Glow - the winter festival is just the thing to warm the hearts of locals and bring new life to Geriward. With over 170 individual events during July and August, it's a great opportunity for families, couples and friends to attend and enjoy. Many events are free to attend. Find out more here.
