Following on from the success of our Northern Gramps Girls Can campaign last year where council lit up exercise spaces in the early mornings, several of the shire’s sporting facilities are due to light up again in 2026. Between May 4 and September 30, spaces in Stawell and St Arnaud will light up from 6pm to 7.30pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and from 6am and 7am on Wednesday mornings.
Stawell Secondary College is a Victorian Government Secondary School with 400 students in Years 7 to 12. A balanced range of Year 12 studies is available to meet the varied needs of students, with students being encouraged to commence their VCE, Vocational Major or trade certificates from Year 10 to fulfil their career aspirations. Every student has their own pathway to the future and our aim is to provide the opportunities for each and every student to achieve success in their chosen field. The College offers a range of extra-curricular opportunities, ranging from our music program to our extensive array of sporting activities such as athletics, swimming, cycling, basketball and others. We also have a developing International Students program with students from varying countries studying in the school and staying with Australian families. The school values are participation, aspiration, inclusion, resilience, and respect.
