Thanks to additional funding from the Victorian Seniors Festival, Northern Grampians Shire Council has been able to resurrect one of the seniors’ concerts from last year’s cancelled festival and it will now take place in Stawell at the end of next month.

The afternoon concert featuring musical duo Melissa Langton and Mark Jones will be held in the Stawell Entertainment Centre on Thursday 24 March at 2.30pm.

The duo will perform in the critically acclaimed 60s themed cabaret show called “What’s New Pussycat?”.

Open to all seniors’ card holders residing in Northern Grampians Shire, tickets for the show are limited and the concert will run in accordance with Victorian Government Coronavirus restrictions in place at the time of the event.

Northern Grampians Shire Council Mayor Cr Tony Driscoll is delighted to see the seniors’ concert revived and anticipates it will sell out fast.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our seniors across the shire to enjoy a very entertaining musical act full of familiar 60s songs and enjoy a few laughs along the way from the talented and comedic duo Melissa Langton and Mark Jones.

“Together with the giveaway bags that we were able to distribute last year when we couldn't get together physically, this concert will be a great way for our older residents to celebrate the 2021/22 year. And later this year, we hope to be back to our usual program of two concerts - one in St Arnaud and one in Stawell., hopefully in October.

Book in person at Northern Grampians Shire Council customer service offices in Stawell or St Arnaud or call 03 5358 8700.
