$56,000 worth of grant funding has been awarded to businesses through round two of grants under the Northern Grampians Shire Council Business Beautification Program.
Council offered grants of up to $5,000 matched dollar for dollar with funding by local businesses to bring more life and colour to our streetscapes.
The program was available to local businesses and shop owners across the shire wanting to improve the appearance of their shop fronts by undertaking projects such as signage updates, modernising shop front materials, façade works and more.
Northern Grampians Shire Council Mayor, Murray Emerson, said the business beautification grants equate to $154,746 worth of investment into the region and realise the opportunity for businesses to look refreshed and ready to welcome visitors who are now coming back to our region.
“The grants drew a high volume of applications from across the shire during the six-week period they were open and the main beautification activities are signage, painting works and restoring heritage features to existing buildings,” he said.
“Our Business Services Team have started planning for showcasing Before and Afters in the coming months through our media channels, so keep an eye out!”
“Congratulations to the successful grant applicants and we look forward to seeing the results of your hard work.”
