Council has released its Advocacy Prospectus 2026 which outlines where the organisation will focus its advocacy efforts to state and federal governments, particularly in the lead-up to November’s State Election. Council will advocate for aged care services in the municipality to be transitioned to local service providers, namely Grampians Community Health and East Wimmera Health Service, following a decision made at the July council meeting in Stawell. There are no immediate changes to any services for current clients and no action required for now.
The annual "Thanksgiving to the Vintage" will be held at Best's Wines/Great Western on Sunday 26th April (12pm - 3pm). Will include wine, food and entertainment plus the traditional grape stomping. This year will see the addition of a Plant, Produce & Preserves Table plus selected Stallholders ... plus activities including the old-fashioned tug of war, bocce ball, bean bag toss and kids' games. Entry is $10 which includes complimentary glass of Best's wine to 'Toast the 2026 Vintage" plus entry into the Lucky Vintage Prize drawn on the day.
