Following on from the success of our Northern Gramps Girls Can campaign last year where council lit up exercise spaces in the early mornings, several of the shire’s sporting facilities are due to light up again in 2026. Between May 4 and September 30, spaces in Stawell and St Arnaud will light up from 6pm to 7.30pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and from 6am and 7am on Wednesday mornings.

The annual "Thanksgiving to the Vintage" will be held at Best's Wines/Great Western on Sunday 26th April (12pm - 3pm). Will include wine, food and entertainment plus the traditional grape stomping. This year will see the addition of a Plant, Produce & Preserves Table plus selected Stallholders ... plus activities including the old-fashioned tug of war, bocce ball, bean bag toss and kids' games. Entry is $10 which includes complimentary glass of Best's wine to 'Toast the 2026 Vintage" plus entry into the Lucky Vintage Prize drawn on the day. This event is proudly supported by Christ Church - Great Western and Best's Wines.
