Whether you are just starting out or already running events, this is your chance to learn from a range of council specialists and gain practical tips to help make your event a success.

We will walk you through everything you need to think about when planning an event, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get advice tailored to your ideas.

Due to the amount of information to cover, the session is split into two parts, and we strongly encourage you to attend both to get the full picture of what’s involved in hosting a successful event.

13 April - Part 1 Getting Started

  • Introduction to event planning
  • Council’s event categories and how we can support and promote your event
  • Funding opportunities
  • Permits and registrations – what you need to know and when

20 April - Part 2 Making it Happen

  • Emergency management plans and risk assessments
  • Waste management and sustainability ideas
  • Communications and promotion for your event

Sessions will run from 6pm to 8pm with registrations open at 5:45pm.

A light supper will be provided, so please RSVP for catering purposes. You only need to register once to attend both sessions.

We look forward to seeing you there and supporting you to bring great events to life in our community!
