Following on from the success of our Northern Gramps Girls Can campaign last year where council lit up exercise spaces in the early mornings, several of the shire’s sporting facilities are due to light up again in 2026. Between May 4 and September 30, spaces in Stawell and St Arnaud will light up from 6pm to 7.30pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and from 6am and 7am on Wednesday mornings.
Stawell Community Carols will be a night of singing Christmas carols run collaboratively by SPACi, Stawell Bizz, GCH, GYE, Stawell Interchurch Council, Stawell Neighborhood House, Stawell Brass Band, NGSC, and FreeZa. There will be two community groups cooking BBQs and a food van providing coffee. It is an alcohol, vape, and smoke-free event.
The Stawell Community Carols Committee is looking for further support and sponsorship to be able to deliver a production in line with community expectations. The group also welcomes any volunteers.
For anyone wanting to take part in the performance, Stawell Performing Arts Company is running rehearsals every Wednesday at 7pm. $2 per session to cover room hire at the Diamond Room at Grampians Community Health.
BYO blanket or chair to sit on.
