Following on from the success of our Northern Gramps Girls Can campaign last year where council lit up exercise spaces in the early mornings, several of the shire’s sporting facilities are due to light up again in 2026. Between May 4 and September 30, spaces in Stawell and St Arnaud will light up from 6pm to 7.30pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and from 6am and 7am on Wednesday mornings.

Serra Terror is on again in 2026! June 6 & 7 - King's Birthday Long Weekend. The Serra Terror is a team challenge held in the Grampians National Park on the Long Weekend in June. Over two days teams battle the terrain and the elements as they hike, run or scramble the 80km (approx) course. Participants can enter as either an Endurance Team of three to eight members who will attempt to complete the course in its entirety, or a Relay Team of up to eight members who are interchangeable at checkpoints. The course changes yearly to maximise the breathtaking scenery and to ensure that every year is a new challenge for our many return teams. The course traditionally has a mix of single track, open four-wheel drive tracks, hills and flats. This epic event promises awe-inspiring views, unforgettable memories, and the ultimate adventure of a lifetime! For more information or to register visit https://www.serraterror.com
