Northern Grampians Shire residents can influence council's 2026/27 budget by reviewing and providing feedback on the proposed council plan year two priorities. This process is different from previous years where residents traditionally had an opportunity to provide submissions to a draft budget. Feedback closes at 4pm Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

Council invites you to join us to celebrate and honour local achievements at our annual Australia Day ceremonies in St Arnaud and Stawell on Monday, January 26. There are also partner events across the shire in townships such as Navarre, Stuart Mill and Marnoo.
Join a limited opportunity to taste of series of back vintage Sparkling Shiraz wines including 2007, 2011, 2014 and 2017, where guests will also enjoy grazing platters alongside their wines.
This journey will allow wine enthusiasts to explore and savour a selection of Sparkling Shiraz wines from previous vintages and gain a better understanding of how they age over time. It offers a unique opportunity to taste and compare how wines have developed, as well as appreciate the nuances and complexities that age can bring to the bottle.
Their winemaker Jacob will share insights into each wine including background on each vintage and the factors that have influenced its development. He’ll also explain the characteristics people can observe as they taste such as colour, aroma, and flavour profile indicators, whilst encouraging attendees to also express their impressions.
The experience is strictly limited to only 10 places so you best get in quick. Have a look at their website for further information and to book a seat.
