Council will advocate for aged care services in the municipality to be transitioned to local service providers, namely Grampians Community Health and East Wimmera Health Service, following a decision made at the July council meeting in Stawell. There are no immediate changes to any services for current clients and no action required for now.

Registrations for 3-Year-Old and 4-Year-Old Kindergarten in St Arnaud are now open and close at 5pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
Due to Department of Education’s priority of access changes for 2027, all children need an individual registration form completed for them regardless of whether they are starting kinder for the first time or moving from 3-Year-Old to 4-Year-Old Kindergarten.
Please note, there is no advantage to registering on the first day applications open. All registrations are processed in line with the Victorian Government’s Priority of Access criteria. If you would like to have a look around at either or both of council's kinder facilities and meet with staff, you can drop into one (or both) of our kindergartens on Wednesday, July 15 any time between 4.15pm and 5.30pm. Alternatively, private tours can also be arranged.
