I would like to thank all those who participated in the 2026 Victorian Community Satisfaction Survey earlier this year. The survey provides an important set of indicators that show how Northern Grampians Shire is performing alongside our local government counterparts across the state.

Council to transition aged care services to alternative providers

Northern Grampians Shire Council will advocate for aged care services in the municipality to be transitioned to local service providers, namely Grampians Community Health and East Wimmera Health Service, following a decision made to withdraw from providing community care services in a closed council at the July 7 council meeting in Stawell.

This month I participated in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout for homelessness in a Melbourne car park. This is something dear to my heart, as I recall sleeping on a park bench 40-plus years ago on my first night at Auckland University. I have also slept rough on other occasions.
