Northern Grampians Shire Council is partnering with Women’s Health Grampians (WHG) to deliver a program called Act@Play to sporting clubs across our region.

Act@Play is a six-month gender equality, cultural change initiative that recognises the power that regional sporting clubs have to influence attitudes and beliefs about what is acceptable behaviour.

The program supports clubs to develop welcoming and inclusive environments for everyone, with a focus on gender equality, through education and empowerment of leaders and members, on and off the field.

Recognising the power of sport as a vehicle for social good, council wishes to support local sporting clubs to participate in the program by offering two fully funded positions. Sporting clubs located within Northern Grampians Shire who are committed to fostering an inclusive, family-focused club culture are encouraged to apply.

Participation in Act@Play gives your Club the ability to attract and retain more members, volunteers and resources, and foster an environment where everyone feels welcome, safe, and valued. If this sounds like your club, please submit an Expression of Interest via the link below.

As part of the program, applicants will need to commit to:

  • 2 x 60-minute leadership briefings and 1x 90-minute bystander training for the committee/leadership group;
  • 1 x 90-minute bystander training for coaches;
  • 1 x 90-minute bystander training for players/members; and
  • Regular meetings between club representatives and Women’s Health Grampians.

Key dates include:

  • Expressions of Interest close Friday, June 27.
  • Successful applicants will be notified by Friday, July 11
  • Applicants must be willing to commence the program by September 1, 2025.

Please note, preference will be given to applicants who can commence the program at the earliest possible date. Please ensure you accurately include this information in your EOI submission via the form link above.
