Following on from the success of our Northern Gramps Girls Can campaign last year where council lit up exercise spaces in the early mornings, several of the shire’s sporting facilities are due to light up again in 2026. Between May 4 and September 30, spaces in Stawell and St Arnaud will light up from 6pm to 7.30pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and from 6am and 7am on Wednesday mornings.

Northern Grampians Shire Council’s Community Development Team is running a series of daytime sessions at the Stawell and St Arnaud town halls this month to provide information on the second round of the Community Grants and Arts and Culture Grants program. Another information session will be held online in the evening.
The sessions will allow for one on one discussions with officers and provide details on:

The face to face sessions will run according to CovidSafe event requirements; attendees will be asked to QR check in, provide proof of full vaccination before entering the venue and wear masks.
“We recognise that many people in our shire prefer to have face to face interaction with council but Coronavirus restrictions have had a big impact on our capacity to do this recently,” said Northern Grampians Shire Council Mayor Cr Tony Driscoll.
“We are hoping that community groups and residents who are interested in applying for either a Community Grant or an Arts and Culture Grant will join us at one of the sessions either in-person or online; applicants should find the session helps to clarify the grants process and improve the chance of their grant application being awarded.”
