Following on from the success of our Northern Gramps Girls Can campaign last year where council lit up exercise spaces in the early mornings, several of the shire’s sporting facilities are due to light up again in 2026. Between May 4 and September 30, spaces in Stawell and St Arnaud will light up from 6pm to 7.30pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and from 6am and 7am on Wednesday mornings.

Northern Grampians Shire Council held a scheduled council meeting on Monday, 2 August 2021 via Teams at 12:30pm and resolved to accept the following:
Council resolved to sell the land at Sloane Street, Stawell to PassivePlace Pty Ltd. PassivePlace’s development will be an innovative and environmentally sustainable offering to residents and visitors of Stawell alike. Further information on this project is available on the NGSC website.
In preparation for the transition to the new Visitor Economy Partnerships, councillors agreed to adopt the proposed MOU between Grampians Tourism Board and its local government partners Northern Grampians Shire Council, Ararat Rural City Council, Horsham Rural City Council and Southern Grampians Shire Council. The memorandum will expire on 30 June 2024. The MOU outlines membership changes and five key goals of brand development, destination marketing, digital collateral development, strategic product identification and support.
Council agreed to give notice of its intention to enter into a formal lease with Stawell Athletic Club so that the club can use the Central Park Hall of Fame from 1 July 2021.
The development of the North Park Netball Court has been awarded to Eltham Excavations. Visitor Information Services and Halls Gap Hub Management will be provided by Grampians Tourism Board for a period of 12 months.
