This is the vision of the Stawell Community Garden group.
The Community Garden Committee is thrilled to announce the grand opening of their newly relocated site on the corner of Newington Road and Franklin Street. It will be held on Sunday, October 15, from 2 to 5 pm.
The group expresses its gratitude to Bulgana Green Power Hub, who supported the move with a generous grant, to the Northern Grampians Shire Council, who assisted with relocation and infrastructure, and to Park & Gardens who provided this site. A special thank you goes to the Ni-Vanuatu Community for their help with the heavy lifting. The new site has been a hive of activity for the past year, as members and volunteers spent many hours in preparations.
Membership is free, though personal use of a raised garden bed, or wicking bed, has a small annual fee. All the gardening tools are freely available, as are compost, soil and manure, and the use of a soon to be erected greenhouse. There is always plenty of gardening support and information available too. Local green-thumbs are invited to get involved in the further development of this gardening vision.
