Volunteering
It's your year to volunteer!
To celebrate National Volunteer Week this year, council is joining forces with Central Grampians Local Learning and Employment Network, Grampians Community Health and East Wimmera Health Service to launch My Year to Volunteer, a campaign that recognises our amazing local volunteers and celebrates the vital role they play in building stronger, more connected, and inclusive communities across May 18-24.
My Year to Volunteer shines a spotlight on dedicated volunteers from local clubs, community groups and not-for-profit organisations, highlighting their valuable contributions while inspiring others across our community to get involved and make a difference.
Take a look at the campaign video below to hear firsthand from local volunteers and learn about what they do and what inspires them to give back to their communities. Alternatively, you can also click on the 'local volunteers' tab below to hear stories from other volunteers who feature in the campaign.
To support the message, we are bringing together as many volunteer opportunities as possible from across the shire in one easy-to-access place. To explore the volunteering opportunities currently available in Northern Grampians Shire, take a look at our 'volunteering opportunities' page linked below. There is also a 'helpful information' page that provides a range of resources for volunteers, along with useful information to support and guide you on your volunteering journey.
