St Arnaud Kindergarten

At St Arnaud Kindergarten, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive and welcoming space where every child and family feels a genuine sense of belonging. We value the strong, respectful relationships we build with our children, families, and the wider community, knowing these connections are the foundation for confident learning and growth.

For more than 50 years, St Arnaud Kindergarten has provided high-quality early learning experiences for local children. Our new building on Dunstan Street, officially opened in early 2025, offers a bright, modern environment designed with children in mind. It features spacious learning areas, natural outdoor play spaces, quiet areas for rest and reflection, and purpose-built facilities that support creativity, exploration, and connection.

Our combined Three-Year-Old Kindergarten and Pre-Prep programs provide engaging indoor and outdoor environments that spark curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. Children are encouraged to explore, play, and discover in spaces that inspire imagination and adventure.

Our play-based curriculum is led by bachelor-qualified teachers who thoughtfully support children to create, experiment, investigate, express ideas, and solve problems. Throughout the year, children enjoy a range of enriching incursions and excursions, including bush kinder experiences, school orientation programs, sport, music, and hands-on animal and wildlife encounters.

At St Arnaud Kindergarten, we support all areas of learning and development while nurturing each child’s confidence, wellbeing, and sense of self. Our goal is for every child to feel capable, connected, and excited for their learning journey ahead.

Each day follows a gentle and predictable rhythm to help children feel secure while allowing plenty of time for play, learning and discovery.

Kinder session begins: 8.45am

Morning tea: 10.00am

Lunch: 12.00pm

Afternoon tea: 3.00pm

Kinder session ends: 3.15pm

To help your child feel comfortable and ready for the day, please pack:

  • Drink bottle (water only)
  • A prepared piece of fruit for morning tea
  • A lunchbox with lunch and afternoon tea
  • Spare set of clothes (please keep in mind the weather)
  • Hat (or beanie in the cooler months)

These simple items help ensure your child is ready to learn, play, and enjoy their day.

Children will need to bring a lunchbox to kindergarten each day. We encourage families to pack healthy food options, keeping our traffic light system in mind (please see image below).

Please include food for lunch and afternoon tea in a lunchbox, as well as a separate piece of prepared fruit for morning tea that is ready for your child to eat. Morning tea fruit and lunch boxes will be stored in the kindergarten fridge.
