Kerbside services
Waste and recycling bins should be placed out for collection the night prior to your collection date. Bins should be kept half a metre apart and no further than one metre from the kerbside.
Northern Grampians Shire Council general local laws prescribe:
- A waste or recycling bin awaiting collection of its contents must not be placed on a road, or on any other municipal place, more than 24 hours prior to the collection day.
- A waste or recycling bin must be removed from a road or any other municipal place within 24 hours of the collection day.
- The owner or occupier of the premises must remove any materials which have spilled from the property’s waste or recycling bin onto a road, or any other municipal place.

Summer Holiday Collection Update - December 2026
There are minimal changes to general rubbish, mixed recycling and FOGO collections over the Christmas and New Year period.
There will be no collections on Christmas Day, Friday, December 25. These collections have moved to Boxing Day, Saturday, December 26. Please ensure you put your bins out the night before as collection time may need to vary due to hot weather and limited landfill opening times over the holiday period.
There will be no interruptions to collections on New Year's Day, Friday, January 1 and Australia Day, Monday, January 26, 2026.
