Northern Grampians Shire residents can help influence council's 2026/27 budget by reviewing and providing feedback on the proposed Council Plan Year 2 priorities. This process is different from previous years where residents traditionally had an opportunity to provide feedback submissions to a draft budget.
Council has started preparing the 2026/27 budget in accordance with the strategic direction set out in the 2025-29 Council Plan. The formal feedback process will concentrate on the initiatives – referred to as tasks – that council may choose to fund through the budget. By introducing a more streamlined process, our community will be able to share their thoughts with us before the budget is fully determined.
This is your opportunity to review the proposed direction set for year two with the 2026/27 budget then aligned to achieve these outcomes. These also continue to align with our overarching four-year goals and strategies as outlined in the endorsed 2025-29 Council Plan material which you can view on our website, here.
Residents are encouraged to review the below material which outlines the proposed priorities and submit their feedback by 4pm on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Please note, this date has been extended to accommodate those who may still be on leave.
The following material outlines the 107 individual tasks council is proposing to achieve over the next financial year with the 2026/27 budget then aligned to achieve these outcomes. Thes tasks align with our overarching give goals as outlined below:
It is important to note that community feedback could influence the direction of these tasks or result in amendments where appropriate at council's discretion.
