Central Park Netball Court

The Central Park Netball Court redevelopment project was an outcome of the 2018 Stawell Parks Precinct Plan, 2017 Northern Grampians Shire Council Netball Strategy and Regional Strategy Activate 2020-30.

It is now completed with the construction of one reinforced concrete netball court located at Central Park in Stawell that features 200 lux lighting, player and spectator shelters with seating, 1.5m wide pathways connecting the spectator walkways, wheelchair/standing areas and new boundary fencing.

This project was a significant development priority and was endorsed by a council resolution in September 2023. The resolution confirmed that the project was ready to proceed to construction and in July 2025, the Hon Ros Spence MP - Minister for Community Sport announced $790,000 funding towards the project.

The Stawell Football Netball Club and Stawell Recreation Advisory Group were key stakeholders in the overall consultation and decision-making process and have contributed to the court's overall design.

The new facility was officially opened by mayor Karen Hyslop on Friday, May 15, 2026.
