Community Sponsorship Program

Applications for Community Sponsorships are closed and will reopen on 1 July 2026.

Got a great idea, event or initiative that helps make the Northern Grampians Shire a better place to live, work or visit? We would love to support you.

Community Sponsorship is all about council joining forces with community groups and organisations to make valuable things happen by providing funding, resources or simply a helping hand. In return, we just ask that council is recognised as a supporting partner through areas such as having our name, brand or services linked to the activity, program or initiative.

You can apply for up to $3,000 to help bring your event or initiative to life. 

Why sponsor? Because we want to:

  • Help local groups tackle important community issues and opportunities.
  • Create real and meaningful connections with parts of our community we might not usually reach.
  • Work together with local groups and organisations to make a real, positive difference in our community.
  • Positively promote our council and the great work happening across the shire.

We are looking to support projects that:

Boost the livability and vibrancy of Northern Grampians Shire.
Align with our community’s strategic goals as outlined in the Council Plan and other council strategies. 
Deliver outcomes in the key priority areas of:

  • Local events and celebrations
  • Youth education and skills
  • Sports and active living
  • Caring for our natural environment
  • Shire pride and promotion 
  • Creativity and culture

You can apply for a sponsorship if:

  1. You are a registered not-for-profit group or organisation with either an Incorporation Certificate and/or an ABN.
  2. You are based in or can demonstrate your request has a direct benefit to the residents of Northern Grampians Shire.
