Council has released its Advocacy Prospectus 2026 which outlines where the organisation will focus its advocacy efforts to state and federal governments, particularly in the lead-up to November’s State Election. Council will advocate for aged care services in the municipality to be transitioned to local service providers, namely Grampians Community Health and East Wimmera Health Service, following a decision made at the July council meeting in Stawell. There are no immediate changes to any services for current clients and no action required for now.
Stawell Gold Reef Probus is a womens group that meets every month for Fellowship, Friendship and Fun. Meetings are held at Trackside Stawell with interesting guest speakers and morning tea. Members are also able to go on day trips with the club and also joining up with other clubs for longer trips.
To join, the interested person needs to attend as a guest with a member for 3 meetings before being inducted.
This can all be arranged by contacting the Secretary or by speaking with someone who is a member.
