Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning (DELWP) is calling for expressions of interest in appointment to the Halls Gap Caravan Park and Recreation Reserve Committee of Management is now open.
Membership of Halls Gap Caravan Park and Recreation Reserve Committee of Management
Expressions of interest are invited from interested and skilled members of the community wishing to be considered for membership to the Halls Gap Caravan Park and Recreation Reserve Committee of Management. This volunteer committee is responsible for the day-to-day management, care, and development of the reserves under its control.
A key task for the new committee is the preparation of a master plan to guide the future use and development of the reserves to meet community aspirations and provide a basis for sustainable management. The term of appointment is eighteen (18) months to January 2023 and may be subject to extension.
Specific interest or skills in one of the following areas would be highly regarded:
- Community connection and interest in seeking a position on the CoM
- Community and stakeholder engagement
- Governance
- Volunteer management
- Financial and business management
All registrations of interest for the voluntary role will be considered.
Applicants must have genuine interest and commitment to managing the reserve/s for the enjoyment and benefit of communities and user groups. It is desirable that the committee as collective possess a broad range of professional skills.
A range of skills, knowledge and experience is required for committees of management including:
- facilities/project management
- business/financial management
- community/stakeholder engagement
- indigenous values and cultural heritage
- environmental/biodiversity conservation
- secretarial/administration/grant management
- marketing/tourism/media
Additional qualities include:
- acting with honesty and integrity
- willingness to attend meetings
- willingness to ask questions and take responsibility
- ability to work well with others
