Northern Grampians Shire Council has announced an arrangement with Passive Place regarding the sale and development of land in Stawell has ended by mutual agreement.
As a result, the land – in Sloane Street, south of Cahill Road (see aerial photo, attached) – has been transferred back to the council.
Mayor Karen Hyslop said the organisation was pleased to see the land back in council ownership given the strategic importance of the land.
“Recognised as a key residential growth area, the land has significant potential in addressing the ongoing housing challenges within the community,” she said.
"Housing remains a priority for the council given the very strong economy in Stawell and many growing businesses. This land is zoned residential, well-serviced and strategically located in Stawell’s main growth corridor.”
Cr Hyslop said further updates about the Sloane Street site would be shared as the council progressed in its decision regarding the future of the land.
