Chief Executive Officer
Michael commenced working with Northern Grampians Shire Council at the age of 16 as a casual lifeguard before departing in 2009 after several years as the Team Leader Community Development.
He then began work with the YMCA to develop his skills and abilities before taking on the role as CEO of Bendigo Regional YMCA in 2011, a role that included rebuilding one of Bendigo's leading Not For Profits.
Michael’s previous roles have included the management of recreation, leisure, community and childcare facilities in various settings; further to this Michael has managed staff teams in excess of 250 people and worked closely with the community to ensure the long-term viability of organisations.
Throughout Michael's career, he was fortunate enough to be named a finalist in the 2010 PowerCor Wimmera Business Awards - Young Business Leader and was also named the 2010 YMCA Victoria Manager of the Year.
Michael has current qualifications in business and recreation and has a true passion for the Northern Grampians Shire Council after being born and raised within the community.
In December 2016 Michael was appointed as the MAV's North West Rural Region representative to the Rural Council Victoria's Executive Committee. The committee meets monthly to provide direction, identify priorities and guide the implementation of RCV’s program.
