Nominations Open for Australia Day Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2021 Australia Day awards for Northern Grampians Shire Council. 

Council encourages residents to consider nominating a worthy community member or an event of significance.

The award categories for 2021 are:

Stawell, Central and South West Wards: 

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Community Event of the Year
  • Local Hero

Kara Kara Ward: 

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Community Event of the Year
  • Senior of the Year

The awards will be presented at the annual Australia Day celebrations held on Tuesday, 26 January 2021 in Stawell and St Arnaud.

Northern Grampians Shire Council CEO, Liana Thompson, is looking forward to seeing the nominations roll in. 

“The Australia Day Awards ceremony is very much an annual highlight for me and many locals,” she said. 

“This is a wonderful time to acknowledge all of the contributions of our community members and how they help make our shire such an enjoyable place to live and thrive in.

“We all know someone who deserves special recognition and I invite our residents to take this opportunity to nominate them.”

Nomination forms must be received by 5pm, 11 December 2020. The forms are available at www.ngshire.vic.gov.au/AustraliaDay for online submission or from both Stawell and St Arnaud customer service centres. Printed forms can be completed and returned in person to customer service, posted to PO Box 580, Stawell, VIC, 3380 or scanned and emailed to ngshire@ngshire.vic.gov.au
