New lease of life for Kara Kara Shire Hall, St Arnaud

The former Kara Kara Shire Hall in St. Arnaud is soon to have a new lease of life with new lessees, Jacinta and Tony Hines, set to create a deli, cafe and coffee shop showcasing regional and local produce with vegan and organic offerings.

‘Community sentiment was that St Arnaud needed more eatery options both for locals and for passing trade,’ Cr Tony Driscoll, Mayor of Northern Grampians Shire Council said.

‘In March 2017, Council undertook an Expression of Interest process to lease the premises with no formal submissions received. We were very pleased then to receive an expression of interest from Jacinta and Tony, Cr Driscoll added.

‘Handover of the premises occurred on June 1 and commencement date for their initial five year lease is 1 September, 2018, after fit-out and refurbishment which is currently underway,’ Cr Driscoll explained.

‘A new business in St Arnaud will provide increased traffic to the other retailers, and by using local produce will help our producers. Council wishes the new business owners well and we look forward to their opening,’ Cr Driscoll concluded.
