Nectar Farms provides an update on Bulgana Green Power Hub project

The Northern Grampians Shire community was visited last week by CEO and Managing Director of Nectar Farms, Stephen Sasse, to provide an update on how the project is progressing in relation to the Bulgana Green Power Hub.

Two community information sessions were held in Stawell and Joel Joel, detailing the plans and timeline of events to come with the project.

The session held in Joel Joel, in particular, featured a number of local solutions coming out of the discussion from community members, including long-term water and stock management solutions.

Nectar Farms is currently working with council to obtain planning and building permits to construct the world-class glasshouse, which will be designed using state of the art technology.

The glasshouse will be over 30 hectares in size, with bulk earthworks, in-ground services and utilities, and construction of the utilities sheds, tank farm and glasshouse itself all set to begin within the next six months.

Central Ward Councillor, Kevin Erwin said, “The community was generally very happy and some minor tweaks were made to the plan.”

“Certainly on the jobs front, everyone was pleased, which will hopefully lead to over 240 full-time and ongoing jobs.”

Key partners in the project include Neoen, Costa, Kubo, Lumigrow, Osborn Consulting Engineers, Ampcontrol and Georgiou.

Those who would like to be kept up to date on the project can do so by emailing Stephen Sasse on stephen.sasse@nectarfarms.com.au.
