Daniher’s Drive arriving in Stawell this Thursday

Fight MND’s 2018 Daniher’s Drive will be arriving in Stawell this Thursday 26 October, as the fundraiser continues to push towards its goal of raising $1,500,000 to help find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease.

Now into its fourth year, the event involves individuals, groups, sports fans, keen adventurers and driving enthusiasts alike to make the four-day ‘Tour for a Cure’, which makes its way from Melbourne, through the Wimmera, then across to the wine regions of South Australia before coming back down to Geelong.

The initiative to get the convoy to pass through Stawell was brought together by Stawell business owners, many of whom have donated their goods and services to help with the fundraising efforts.

The convoy, which includes nearly 20 ex-AFL footballers, is scheduled to arrive in Stawell at approximately 3.30pm for around an hour, however this is subject to change depending on travel times during the day.

Upon arriving in Stawell, an afternoon tea will be set up in Main Street, Stawell for people to purchase from, as well as a BBQ set up at the Stawell Club at 113-117 Main Street from 2pm.

Two raffles will run on the day in support of the fundraiser, while surprise bags for kids can be purchased for $4.

Donation tins will be available to people who wish to support the cause, with an opportunity to also chat to some of the drivers.

Stawell Ward Councillor, Murray Emerson said, “It’s great to see Neale Daniher bringing his campaign to our region in what is an incredible cause.”

“I’m sure our community will come out in droves and get behind Neale and the Fight MND campaign.”
