Council requests community feedback on revised 2017-21 Council Plan

At a Special Council Meeting earlier today, council agreed to give public notice relating to the proposed revised Council Plan 2017-21.

Mayor of Northern Grampians Shire Council, Cr Kevin Erwin said, “We regularly review our Council Plan, and the changes have been made to better reflect our current situation in relation to some of the achievements we’ve had over the past two years.”

The goals of the Council Plan cover four areas:

● Enhance Lifestyle and Community

● Boost Economic Growth

● Provide Sustainable Infrastructure

● Improve Organisational Effectiveness

Within these goals sit a number of outcomes and strategies that council will be working towards for the next two years of the plan.

Notable changes within those goals include:

● Maximising the benefits of the predicted population growth within the shire

● Prepare our community for the employment transition into the future

● Where possible partner with other Local Governments to reduce the operating cost of council

● Promotion of the key livability aspects of our region
