Community Grants Program open for applications

Round one of Northern Grampians Shire Council’s 2019-20 Community Grants Program is now open for applications.

Community organisations are encouraged to apply for grants of up to $5,000 from the $30,000 pool of funding, for projects that align with one or more of council’s health and wellbeing goals:

● Healthy eating

● Active living

● Mental wellbeing

● Preventing violence and physical injury

● Early years (0-5 years)

Community organisations that believe they have a project that fits the above criteria are advised to contact council’s Communities Department on (03) 5358 8700 for assistance with their application.

Mayor of Northern Grampians Shire Council, Cr Kevin Erwin said, “Our Community Grants Program is very popular, but it does have some conditions so it’s important that applicants have a discussion with our Communities Department, who can assist them with their queries and their application.”

“I encourage all community organisations that have a project that benefits the health and wellbeing of our community, to have those discussions and put in an application.”

Previous recipients of council’s Community Grants Program include St Arnaud Primary School to expand their vegetable garden, Stawell Soccer Club to purchase equipment and help set up the foundations of the new club, and Stuart Mill Progress Association to install disability playground equipment at Stuart Mill Recreation Reserve.

Applications for round one of the grants program close on Friday 11 October, with round two opening in February.
