Bulgana Wind Farm Community Fund recipients celebrated at Neoen event

Successful applicants of the Bulgana Wind Farm Community Fund, land owners, community members and the project team for the Bulgana Wind Farm attended a community event held by Neoen Australia at the weekend.

The event was held at Seppelts lawn in Great Western, where Cr Tony Driscoll thanked Neoen on behalf of the community groups, before reading out the successful recipients of the $120,000 pool of funding.

Notably absent from the event was one of the fund’s recipients, the Joel Joel fire brigade members who had to leave to attend to a fire on Bulgana Road, showcasing the need for an upgraded tanker which will now come to fruition through the community fund.

Deputy Chief Executive of Neoen, Romain Desrousseaux also thanked the community for their continued support of the project.

Kara Kara Ward Councillor, Tony Driscoll said, “It was a great event to celebrate the recipients of the Bulgana Wind Farm Community Fund, as well as being a great opportunity for networking between recipients.”

“While the wind farm is still under construction, we’re already seeing benefits to our community through initiatives such as this which is fantastic.”

Council has enjoyed a great working relationship with Neoen and looks forward to their next community event.
